Slippery Hill! Day 52!

2 lbs 15 ounces

Ok everybody I need you to put your hats on and your noise makers in your mouth, hopefully at midnight tonight when they weight him we will have a 3 lb son. He is really doing well at packing on the weight, it is driving up day by day. They have been able to increase his breast milk volume up to 26 ml every 3 hours with vitamins and fortifier.

As of yesterday morning, that would be April 4 they decided that Calen needed to go back onto SiPAP due to still have problems with slow heart rates throughout the day that he was less and less being able to recover quickly from. We wll definitely see this as a setback, we will just have to wait and see how long he will have to be on it. Many of the nurses taking care of him do not think it will be a long time they feel that maybe it was a bit of an overreactive thing but at this point whatever is going to work the very best for him for the long term is the better solution, so with that the SiPAP is back on and it is giving him 10 assisted ventilations evert minute just as it had in the past.

His temperature is very well regulated at this point, the temperatures in the rooms now are down low enough where they feel cool to us, and they are just a but warmer in Calen's isolett so he is doing well with that. Holly is giving him a pacifier right now and he really likes it. So we are going to be have to introduce that o him a lot now so that he is prepared for breast and bottle feeding.

Please keep praying for Calen, we want him back off the ventilatory support system's, we are ready to take him home, I never thought I would say this but this place is finally starting to drag on us.
